My new favorite coffee hack....

How do you know when your caffeine intake is getting to be too much for your body??

1. You are constantly seeking that extra jolt of energy, wanting coffee most of the day.

2. You are wired and tired, meaning you feel exhausted but when you lay down to go to bed at night you are wide awake.

3.  If you are becoming more anxious as the days go by.

Maybe its time for you to take a pause from caffeine!

Besides coffee's addictive properties, coffee cause a whole host of other health concerns in the body.

Here is an article describing all the the effects, I have highlighted a few from this article.  If you want to read the entire thing, check it out below.

"Beyond addictive patterning, coffee has other effects on the body worth considering:

  • over-stimulation of the central nervous system (leading to increased risk of insomnia, adrenal fatigue, irritability and heart issues)
  • elevated blood pressure
  • heartburn and other gastrointestinal problems
  • fibrocystic breast disease
  • dehydration
  • compromised immunity

It should also be noted that, like sugar, coffee can also rob the body of essential nutrients. These include calcium and the essential B vitamins that support our brain and detoxification health.

Finally, the auxiliary digestive organ, the liver, plays the most prominent role in the metabolism of caffeine. Coffee consumption increases liver activity and can place additional stress on this already taxed and hard-working powerhouse. In addition to caffeine, coffee can contain a wide constellation of toxic chemicals, depending on where it originates and how it was processed, that can add insult to liver injury.

The constant stress on the adrenal glands and the continual release of the fight-or-flight hormones prompted by habitual caffeine consumption are one cause for the body to lose its immune tolerance. You’re not the only one who gets eager and enthusiastic. Your immune system gets hyper, too!"

So what do we do about it!!

We need to get off the coffee and off the caffeine. I suggest you get off of it gradually as you can reduce you pots of coffee to 50/50 regular and decaf ( always buy organic of both).  Then you can switch completely to decaf or use this tea I found.

Tea has healing properties for the body and if you are going to put something in your body it should be doing your body some good.  Dandelion tea can improve your immune health, detox your body, help you lose weight, improve your skin and give your body a boost of anti-oxidants.

Check it out...it tastes like coffee and has so many health benefits.
